Crozet Family Dental — Crozet, VA

insurance & financing

Insurance and paying for care, without the fog.

Dental billing earns its bad reputation elsewhere; here it runs on three rules. Your coverage is verified before your visit, not discovered after. Treatment figures come in writing before work happens. And when a number is big, the front desk helps you plan it instead of just presenting it.

Fastest start: call or text 434-823-4080 to begin insurance verification — if we need an image of your card, our team will provide the approved way to send it securely — and we'll tell you what your plan actually does before you're ever in a chair.

Insurance, in practice

We work with many dental insurance plans, and preventive visits — cleanings, exams, routine X-rays — are often covered in full by plans with preventive benefits. Where plans get creative is treatment coverage, which is exactly why we check yours specifically and show the expected out-of-pocket in the written figure.

We provide a written estimate before treatment. Insurance benefits are estimates rather than guarantees of payment, and we'll contact you if the insurer's response differs materially from the estimate.

We file claims for you, chase the paperwork, and translate the denial letters when insurers get poetic. December deserves its own sentence: unused annual benefits expire at year's end, and the front desk can tell you in one call what yours have left.

Financing and the no-insurance path

Larger treatment plans can be split into monthly payments through financing options the front desk will walk you through with real numbers — what qualifies, what it costs, and what to avoid. Phasing treatment across calendar years to catch two rounds of benefits is a legitimate strategy we'll plan with you.

No insurance at all? The Virginia Dental Club is our membership plan built for exactly that — its own page has the story, and the front desk has current pricing.

Payments

We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made — and we explain estimated costs before treatment begins.

Questions about a balance or a statement? Call the front desk — a person who can actually see your account answers the phone.

CareCredit

We accept CareCredit, the healthcare credit card built for medical and dental expenses. Once approved, it lets you spread the cost of treatment across convenient monthly payments — useful for larger plans like implants or full-mouth work.

The front desk can walk you through how CareCredit works and whether it fits your situation before anything is scheduled.

Questions we hear in the chair

Are you in-network with my plan?
We work with many dental insurance plans. Call or text us to begin insurance verification, and our team can verify your benefits and provide an estimate before your visit.
What happens if insurance denies something?
We appeal what's appealable and translate what isn't. You'll never learn about a coverage problem from a surprise bill — the written figure up front is the contract we keep.
Do you offer payment plans?
Financing options exist for larger treatment plans — the front desk walks you through current terms with real numbers before you commit to anything.
Can I use my HSA or FSA here?
Yes — dental treatment is a qualified expense for most accounts, and the front desk can time payments to your account's calendar.
